I spent part of the weekend in Paris, a nice side effect of my job.  I had considered going to the Louvre, which I haven’t been to in at least 5 years, but I didn’t get up early enough to drive into Paris and make it worth the trip.
I might post of few pictures of what I did do instead later, but for now, in honor of my missed trip to the Louvre, here is an accidental stereogram of the Venus de Milo, one of the Louvre’s most famous residents.

And here’s what’s left of Big Butter Jesus… Yeah, that thing was definitely a lightning rod.
Sorry about the low resolution of the right photo.  I’ll update with a better one if I can find it.

I just heard my buddy, Big Butter Jebus Jesus, bit the big one by burning badly after being blasted by a bolt (of lightning).
I don’t mean to sound sacrilegious, but that thing was just weird.  I’m sure they’ll rebuild it bigger and better than ever, though.
And why didn’t it occur to the anyone on the design committee that a resin-covered styrofoam statue with a steel frame might be some kind of fire hazard?  I mean really.
